This Is Horror

David Moody VS Wayne Simmons, 29 June

Coming to Esquire’s Coffee Bar, in association with Waterstone’s Coventry, This Is Horror present their most intense event yet.

Kicking off at 7pm on 29 June, Wayne Simmons and David Moody invite you to an evening of readings, conversation, jokes (if your humour’s particularly dark) and an intimate insight into the life of the horror writer.

Wayne Simmons says:

Dave and I have done a lot of events together, all of them great in their own ways, but this one is going to be particularly special. We’ve both got new material we’re dying to try out so expect some exclusive readings from yet-to-be-published manuscripts as well as from our published work. This should be a relaxed evening, very interactive. As much about our audience as it is about us. Really looking forward to it.

Tickets for this exclusive event at Esquire’s are just £3 and £2 can be redeemed off book purchases on the night. Tickets can be purchased on the door on the night but to reserve a ticket you can email Michael@ThisIsHorror.co.uk

Many thanks to Tim Sparvero for once again designing an excellent This Is Horror promotional poster.

Belfast born, Wayne Simmons, has loitered with intent around the horror genre for some years. He penned reviews and interviews for several online zines before publication of his debut novel in 2008. Wayne’s work has since been published in the UK, Austria, Germany, Spain, Turkey and North America.

David Moody grew up on a diet of trashy horror and pulp science fiction. He worked as a bank manager before giving up the day job to write about the end of the world for a living. He has written a number of horror novels, including Autumn, which has been downloaded more than half a million times since publication in 2001 and spawned a series of sequels and a movie starring Dexter Fletcher and David Carradine. Film rights to Hater were snapped up by Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and Mark Johnson (producer of the Chronicles of Narnia films). Moody lives with his wife and a houseful of daughters and stepdaughters, which may explain his pre-occupation with Armageddon.
