Horror Channel celebrates FrightFest
To celebrate the 15th year of FrightFest, Horror Channel will screen presenter Emily Booth’s favourite films. Emily’s Festival Frights Season runs from 18 – 24 August and will feature some classic genre films. The season kicks off with Dread on Monday 18 August, followed by The House of the Devil on Tuesday, Dead Snow on Wednesday and Midnight Son on Thursday. The weekend starts with Cabin Fever on Friday 22 August, The Victim on Saturday 23 and the season is wrapped up on the Sunday with Pan’s Labyrinth. Horror Channel is on Sky Channel 319, Virgin 149 and FreeSat 138.
Changes to the FrightFest lineup
Changes have been made to the FrighFest lineup. Due to the early release of Sin City: A Dame To Die For, the film has been moved up the lineup to the Thursday evening. Housebound will now move to the Friday evening and I Survived A Zombie Holocaust will screen on the Saturday. V/H/S Viral will screen on the Monday night before closing film The Signal. Cheap Thrills available soon
Twisted black comedy Cheap Thrills will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital platforms on 28 July. Cheap Thrills is the story of a hard up couple who meet up with some old friends and enter into a vicious game of truth or dare.
R.A.D screening on Sunday
The guys behind Grimm Up North are running a fantastic evening of cinematic nostalgia in Manchester on Sunday 27 July. The screening will feature Roadhouse and Point Break. It will be held at Gorilla in Manchester with doors opening at 4pm. Tickets are available at the Gorilla website.
Prepare for The End at FantasyCon
The End, the new book from Gary McMahon will be launched at FantasyCon in York this September. The book is available from Newcon Press and will be available to pre-order soon. The End is the story of a suicide plague that grips London, where a small band of survivors must take the long journey North to safety. The book will be available to buy in person at FantasyCon.
