Here’s a selection of some of the news that caught our eye this week…

John Carpenter To Play Live UK Shows During Halloween 2016

Director and musician John Carpenter has announced that he is set to bring his new live music show to the UK during Halloween 2016. The horror master has been named to headline ATP’s Halloween extravaganza Release The Bats in 2016 that is set to take place in at The Albert Hall in Manchester on Oct 29 2016 and The Troxy in London on Oct 31 2016. The shows will see Carpenter perform a musical retrospective of his horror soundtrack work, his debut studio album Lost Themes, plus brand new compositions.

Both venues will be given a Halloween makeover for the occasion, and fans are encouraged to dress up accordingly.

Tickets are available via most major ticket agents.

Kevin Bacon Announced For Tremors TV Series

Jason Blum has announced that Blumhouse Productions are set launch cult classic Tremors back to the small screen, and not only that Kevin Bacon is signed on to reprise his role as Valentine McKee.

The following has been posted on the subject at the official Blumhouse website: TREMORS fans, better grab(oid) your hats, ‘cuz this is pretty awesome news: Blumhouse Productions and Universal Cable are teaming up to restart the monster-worm franchise as a cable TV series, and Kevin Bacon — who, as you well know, starred in the original 1990 classic — is now confirmed to be reprising his role as Valentine McKee.

Andrew Miller (The Secret Circle) is attached as writer for the series, which will be once again set in the fictional desert town of Perfection, Nevada — albeit 25 years after the events of the original film.

TREMORS is no stranger to television, having had a 13-episode run on SyFy back in 2004, but as of this writing the producers are shopping the series to several potential networks.

New Photos From Set Of The Conjuring 2 Released by James Wan

Director James Wan has shared some new on set photos from the upcoming The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist via his Twitter feed.

Take a look below to see returning stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, reprising their The Conjuring roles as well as a first look at the retro London location.

The Conjuring 2 will continue the based on truth adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose cases have also inspired the likes of The Haunting in Connecticut and The Amityville Horror. The sequel is also set to feature Frances O’Connor, playing the part of a desperate mother whose daughter is experiencing a haunting.

The Conjuring 2: The Endfield Poltergeist is being directed by James Wan (Saw, Insidious) for a June 10 2016 release.
