News Round-up Week Ending 28 December 2018

Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

New from Thunderstorm Books, limited edition, signed first edition of The Hag Witch of Tripp Creek

Described by the author herself as an origin story for a local legend, The Hag Witch of Tripp Creek sees urbanite Dawna Temple move to the country. She finds it difficult enough, before she discovers that her neighbour is thought to be a notorious witch. When she befriends the witch to see if the stories she is told are true, the situation only becomes more complicated. The book is part of the oversized ‘Black Voltage’ line, and comes with beautifully designed dust jacket artwork, as well as being limited to fifty-two author signed copies. You can head over to Thunderstorm Books and pick up your copy now, at a cost of $85.

New chapbook, Unmemory, by Kristi DeMeester, illustrated by Yves Tourigny

Unmemory, by the extraordinary Kristi DeMeester (BeneathEverything That’s Underneath) is a nine-thousand-word short story, lovingly presented in an illustrated chapbook from Tallhat Press. It begins when a girl seeks to find the Christmas video that traumatised her childhood. The chapbook is put together wonderfully and features ten illustrations by artist Yves Tourigny. With the Christmas theme and the chapbook presentation it would make a perfect belated holiday gift. You can take a look at more of the illustrations, including some photos of the internal images, and buy yourself a copy at Yves Tourigny’s website, here.
