Here’s a small selection of the horror and genre news that caught our eye during the last week …

Seeing Double, the debut novel from extreme horror writer Karen Runge, out now from Grey Matter Press

You can now get your hands on a copy of the debut novel by Karen Runge, author of the acclaimed short story collection Seven SinsSeeing Double, released by Grey Matter Press is the story of three ex-pats in Asia, living a thrill-seeking lifestyle within their love triangle. Things spiral out of control and the novel deals with the hard topics of polyamory, masculinity and feminism, while keeping its feet firmly placed in the extreme horror camp. Kickstarter film project Book of Monsters invites you to pledge and contribute to the film

Boasting some fascinatingly creepy artwork (see above) an award winning production team and a quite unique idea, Book of Monsters is looking for contributors. The project is a horror film kickstarter with a difference. Naturally, the team are looking for financial contributions from horror fans but, at the same time, they are also looking for contributions to the plot, the monsters involved in the story and even the way in which certain characters die. Short story collection, Doomsday After Midnight, by Anthony Crowley, out now

Following on from his acclaimed dark poetry collection, Libro de Lumine, Anthony Crowley has recently released a short story collection, entitled Doomsday After Midnight. Featuring stories such as ‘Dark Meadow’ and ‘Sacraments of the Flesh’, the collection was released earlier this month and is available here.


Indie horror, Nocturne, released 25 July

Nocturne, directed by Steve Shimek, is a new indie horror featuring partying, a ritual and the appearance of a demon. The film is now available on DVD and digital download and features a girl running from her past who, once the demon is summoned, is forced to face her future.
