Friday The 13th: The Game Coming Very Soon

Not since the glory days of Sega’s megadrive and the Splatterhouse series has a hockey mask-wearing, axe-wielding maniac graced the screens of horror-hungry video gamers. The wait is almost up though, with the imminent release of Friday The 13t : The Game. Details of the game, including screenshots and more can be found on its very own Steam page. The game will also be launched on PS4 and Xbox One.


Sixteen-year-old French Filmmaker Nathan Ambrosioni’s Second Feature Therapy to Receive World Premiere

When his genre feature, Hostile, hit the schedule at Cannes in 2015, there was a lot of buzz around Nathan Ambrosioni, not least because he had made the movie at the age of sixteen. Next week sees the follow up feature from the young Frenchman, once again on Cannes’ world market premiere platform. Therapy is a part-found footage film, in which police are called in to investigate some video recovered by night watchmen at an abandoned house. A group of young people’s fate rests on whether the police can find them in time. You can find the trailer HERE.


First Annual ‘Bay of Blood’ Weekend Scheduled for Tampa, Florida This September

This September will see the first of a new genre weekend for the international calendar, as Tampa, Florida opens its doors to the Bay of Blood convention. With a particular focus on the films of the 70s and 80s, this first event will run from 23 to 25 September and will feature a double 35th anniversary reunion of genre classics The Burning and My Bloody Valentine, and much more besides. The organisers are keen to see as many international guests at the convention as possible, and a fuller programme of events and venue details etc can be found HERE.


Mobile Gamers Can Expect Serious Scares in The Brookhaven Experiment

The first pure horror shooter for HTC’s new Vive virtual reality device has been announced with a release date of 22 June. Pitched by HTC as the first immersive horror gaming experience, one might be tempted to take such claims with a pinch of salt, but taking a look at the promotional gameplay video, below, with a split screen view of in-game footage and the players obviously nervous reactions gives some insight into how frightening it may indeed be.
