This year sees a huge dose of horror being brought to the Edinburgh Fringe. Stuart Gordon has resurrected his classic 1985 horror film Re-Animator as a musical and after a successful six month run it will be terrorising Edinburgh for the entire month of August.
Re-Animator is the story of Herbert West, a medical student who creates a serum to bring the dead back to life. However, what should be a heralded medical breakthrough only results in murder and carnage as West’s quest for fresh subjects lead him to take drastic action.
Starring George Wendt, best known as Norm from Cheers as the Dean of the Medical School who ends up being transformed into a mindless zombie. Re-Animator The Musical also features the original special effects team from the classic film. The first few rows have been marked out as a “splash zone” so the audience is advised to come prepared!
Re-Animator The Musical will be performed at the Assembly George Square, Edinburgh.
