It’s time, once again, to cast your votes in the This Is Horror Awards 2012. We will be unveiling the shortlist this time tomorrow and opening voting to the public. In the meantime here’s a note about the awards. We’ve decided to merge the Classic Soundtrack of the Year and Soundtrack of the Year award into the Soundtrack of the Year award. We’ve also merged the Chapbook of the Year and Novella of the Year into the Short Fiction of the Year award. The Short Story of the Year has regrettably been cut as we felt we could not do it justice.
The longlist awards panel
After the public submitted suggestions to the longlist, two months ago, we’ve been diligently reading, viewing and listening to all nominations whilst deciding which titles to put forward for the shortlist. But who’s we? Staff members of This Is Horror, specifically: Michael Wilson, Dan Howarth, Raven Brookes, Joanna Baldwin, BC Furtney and Gareth Jones. Of course, there are many more contributors to the This Is Horror website but anyone on the This Is Horror longlist panel cannot have any conflicting interests or media up for an award (common sense really).
