First, Bob, I wanted to thank you! You said it exactly right! Your faith is something you have to find yourself. You can’t find it in church. And if you do, you’re not the type of person I want to know. I really enjoyed this podcast. Listening to Michaels, Bob’s, and Todd’s stories about growing up in an isolated, close-knit small town where cliques reign. We were always outsiders no matter how long we lived there. It was the same when we visited my mom’s relatives down south who are even stricter Christians. I grew up always thinking I was born evil. That nothing I could do was good enough. When I went away to college it got better but when I returned home, I was pestered on joining churches. Even raising my children, the pestering continued. Sometimes I gave in, eventually I said: “Fuck it.” This is such an important subject to get out there to others who’ve been harmed this way. Thank you all!
