    Nathan Carson, author of Starr Creek (Lazy Fascist Press), joins Scott to talk about his fiction and his recent graphic novel adaptation of Algernon Blackwood’s ‘The Willows’ (Floating World Comics) with artist Sam Ford, including a heap of Jack Kirby love, Marvel movies, growing up with Dark Horse Comics, the secret origins of ‘The Willows’ project, transitioning from journalism and rock music/promotion to fiction, the fruits of his ‘Cinderella moment’ with Ross Lockhart/Word Horde, back story on some short stories including ‘The Projection Booth’ in Joseph Pulver’s The Madness of Dr. Caligari (Fedogan & Bremer), sword and sorcery, reading and interviewing Gene Wolfe, the pleasure of working with Lazy Fascist Press,  Starr Creek inspirations and its warm reception, his band Witch Mountain, drumming and prose, DJ and flow,  a reading from  ‘When the Evil Days Come Not’ from Tales from a Talking Board (0:54:20 to 1:00:00), more on the genesis and challenges of adapting ‘The Willows’ to a visual medium including substituting female lead characters,  building dread by ‘condensing the action’, collaborating with Sam Ford, possible returns to Floating World, issue #2 coming in January, current and upcoming fiction, and his recommended writers including David Busboom, Garrett Cook, and The Outer Dark recent guest Jennifer Robin, the ‘poet laureate of Portland Weird.’
