    The Outer Dark presents ‘The Horizon Is Still Way Beyond You: Zora Neale Hurston’s Life and Legacy’ panel  at NecronomiCon 2022 (0:15:04).  Edward M. Erdelac (moderator),  Nicole Givens Kurtz, and Adam Golaski discuss the enduring legacy of Zora Neale Hurston, a  Star of the Harlem Renaissance, author, anthropologist, journalist, and filmmaker. Hurston fell into relative obscurity for some decades before interest in her work was revitalized in the late 20th Century. The podcast begins with a bonus interview with  Nicole Givens Kurtz about edi the exciting upcoming Blackened Roots: An Anthology of the Undead (February 2023, Mocha Memoirs Press), which she is co-editing with Tonia Ransom at Nightlight podcast. This highly anticipated book features nontraditional zombie stories from the African diaspora by an international line-up of contemporary Black spec-lit authors and is being funded by an Indiegogo campaign.
